As China’s traditional Lantern Festival approaches, Hengbao Protective donated a batch of charitable funds and a shipment of masks to children in need and left-behind children.

A caring enterprise is destined to go further and last longer. As China’s traditional festival—the Lantern Festival—is approaching, Hengbao Protective has delivered a batch of charitable donations and a shipment of masks to children in need and left-behind children.

This is a care initiative for children in need, themed “Volunteer Service Delivers Care, Civilized Practice Ushers in a New Atmosphere.” Jointly organized by the Guangxi Renzhe Social Work Service Center and the civil affairs bureaus of various counties and districts, the event will be held on January 31, February 1, and February 2 in Lujiacun, Xiufeng District; Shankou Village, Tanxia Town, Lingchuan County; and Yaotou Village, Zhemu Town, Yanshan District, respectively. The initiative aims to promote traditional Chinese culture, show care for children in need and left-behind children, and enhance and foster social interaction skills among families and children, between children themselves, between families, and between families and their communities.

At the Zhuangyuan Corridor in Shangkou Village, more than 20 children facing difficulties and left-behind children learned traditional crafts, made dragon lanterns, and performed dragon dances, experiencing a close “first encounter” with intangible cultural heritage.

In the classroom, teacher Liang Jiaqing, a inheritor of Guilin’s intangible cultural heritage—the “Liangjiang Dragon Lantern”—patiently explained to everyone the origins and crafting techniques of the dragon lantern. With just a few bamboo strips in his hands, he bent and tied them together, and soon a lifelike rabbit was already taking shape. After preparing the lantern’s surface with gauze, he picked up a brush and skillfully outlined the rabbit’s silhouette on the surface, adding vibrant colors and exquisite decorations. Before long, a charming rabbit lantern appeared right before everyone’s eyes. Under Teacher Liang Jiaqing’s guidance and with the help of volunteers, the children eagerly began making their own rabbit lanterns. Everyone chatted and laughed happily, creating a warm and joyful atmosphere at the scene.

It’s precisely these lovely and sensible children who also need care—especially the warmth and support from families and all sectors of society.

The Guangxi Renzhe Social Work Service Center was established in 2005. Guided by the philosophy of “Those who show kindness to others will themselves be loved in return,” the center has been continuously carrying out public welfare activities on various themes, including assisting students, helping those in need, supporting people with disabilities, caring for the elderly, and providing disaster relief. The center has also built up a pool of outstanding volunteers and caring enterprises dedicated to public service. Mr. Hu Zhiqiang, Chairman of Hengbao Protective Equipment Co., Ltd., is the founder of “Renzhe.” Over the past 18 years, he and the company he leads have consistently channeled their compassion into a wide range of public welfare initiatives.

During the three-day “Delivering Care” campaign, Hengbao Protective provided each child with a New Year red envelope and also handed them high-quality masks manufactured by the company itself, encouraging them to study hard and letting them feel the warmth of the larger social family. Mr. Hu Zhiqiang said, “Acts of kindness don’t need a reason—they’re valuable precisely because of their persistence.”
