Corporate Honor | The City Sends Hengbao a “Letter of Gratitude”

Do you know what International Social Work Day is?
The International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) designated a single day each spring, starting in 2007, as “World Social Work Day.” The first “World Social Work Day” was initiated and championed by Dr. David Jones, President of the International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW).

March 21 of this year marked the 17th International Social Work Day. On that day, the city presented “letters of appreciation” simultaneously to Hengbao Protective Equipment and Renzhe Social Work, the social work organization it leads.

Why “thank” Hengbao Protection?
Many years ago, Hengbao Protective Equipment forged a bond with “public welfare.”
In 2005, under the leadership of Mr. Hu Zhiqiang, General Manager of Hengbao Protection, the Guangxi Renzhe Social Work Service Center was established. Adhering to the philosophy of “Those who show kindness to others will always be loved in return,” the center has continuously carried out public welfare activities on various themes—including supporting education, assisting the impoverished, helping people with disabilities, caring for the elderly, and providing disaster relief—and has built up a pool of outstanding volunteers and caring enterprises dedicated to public service.

For the past 18 years, Mr. Hu Zhiqiang and the Hengbao Protection team he leads have consistently channeled their compassion into a wide range of charitable activities.
Coinciding with this year’s 17th International Social Work Day, the “Guilin City Social Work Development Achievements Exhibition,” hosted by the Guilin Civil Affairs Bureau and co-organized by the Guilin Social Work Association, the Cultural Development Foundation of Guangxi Normal University Press, and other partners, was solemnly held at the Art Gallery on the third floor of the Guangxi Normal University Press Publishing Building.

The event received strong support from the Organization Department of the Guilin Municipal Party Committee, the Municipal Party Committee’s Publicity Department, the Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, the Rural Revitalization Bureau, the Municipal Youth League Committee, the Municipal Women’s Federation, as well as the civil affairs bureaus of various counties (cities, districts), affiliated units of these bureaus, various social work agencies and public welfare organizations, and Guilin’s universities. Nearly 100 people attended the opening ceremony on-site.
The leaders attending the opening ceremony extended festive greetings to social workers across the city and provided an overview of the vast potential for the development of social work, as well as the current status, experiences, and achievements of social work in Guilin City—particularly highlighting the phased achievements in the construction of social work stations at the township (subdistrict) level in Guilin City.

On-site, Hengbao Protective Products actively responded to this event and donated a batch of medical masks to the activity. In recognition of Hengbao Protective Products’ longstanding support for the development of social work throughout the city and its strong backing of this event, the Guilin Civil Affairs Bureau and the Guilin Social Work Association presented Hengbao Protective Products with a “Letter of Appreciation.”

Indeed, for many years, under the leadership of Mr. Hu Zhiqiang, Hengbao Protective has been quietly and steadily engaging in social welfare activities. Establishing social work organizations, providing support to impoverished students and families, and actively donating anti-epidemic supplies during the pandemic—all these efforts underscore Hengbao Protective’s corporate responsibility and sense of mission. As a company committed to becoming the world’s leading center for latex manufacturing, Hengbao Protective still has a long way to go in fulfilling its social responsibilities. Yet, its original aspiration—to give back to society and show concern for the vulnerable—will never fade.
