Corporate News | Caring for the “Old and Young,” Safeguarding Everyday Happiness

On March 30, the “Promoting ‘Five-Party Collaboration’ to Care for ‘Young and Elderly’” event was held at the Zunshen Temple Food Culture Square in Xiufeng District. The event was organized by the Civil Affairs Bureau of Xiufeng District and jointly hosted by the Lijun Subdistrict Social Work Station, Jiashan Subdistrict Social Work Station, Xiufeng Subdistrict Social Work Station, Xiufeng District Cultural Center, and Guangxi Renzhe Social Work Service Center. Various subdistrict social work stations, together with relevant communities, volunteer organizations, and individuals, participated in the event. As one of the caring enterprises, Hengbao Protection also took part in the event and distributed charitable supplies to support its success.

The event promoted professional knowledge in social work through program performances, quiz sessions with prizes, and the display of exhibition boards. While enabling the public to gain a better understanding of the content of social work, the event also provided care and support services for vulnerable groups and organized volunteer activities for residents, thereby comprehensively advancing the integrated development of the “Five Societies and Three Stations” model in Xiufeng District and strengthening the branding of social work stations.

During the event, students from migrant worker families at Zhenhua Primary School presented a carefully choreographed dance to the audience with an upbeat and positive attitude, and they even received their favorite prizes. The students who had previously received help sang loudly, “Learn from Lei Feng—Be a Role Model,” earning continuous applause from the audience.

Veteran Wang Yachang, a veteran of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, also attended the event and shared stories about the arduous struggles of the newly founded China in those days. Wang Yachang had participated in the Liaoshen Campaign, the Pingjin Campaign, and the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea, earning numerous merits and receiving both the Liberation Medal and the Medal for Resistance Against U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea. The audience at the scene expressed their profound respect for Mr. Wang Yachang with enthusiastic applause.

The event also featured a variety of hands-on experiences with autonomous-region-level intangible cultural heritage projects, tailored to the characteristics of the “elderly and young” demographic, and received high praise from the audience. Meanwhile, volunteers provided on-site services such as free medical consultations, health screenings, and complimentary haircuts.

At the event site, Hengbao Protective Supplies delivered caring supplies to families in need. Years ago, Hengbao Protective Supplies had already forged a bond with “public welfare.”

In 2005, under the leadership of Mr. Hu Zhiqiang, General Manager of Hengbao Protection, the Guangxi Renzhe Social Work Service Center was established. Adhering to the philosophy of “Those who show kindness to others will themselves be loved in return,” the center has continuously carried out public welfare activities on various themes—including supporting education, assisting the impoverished, helping people with disabilities, caring for the elderly, and providing disaster relief—and has built up a pool of outstanding volunteers and caring enterprises dedicated to public service.

While pursuing corporate development, Hu Zhiqiang and his team at Hengbao Protective have never forgotten the responsibilities entrusted to them by society. Over the past 18 years, they have consistently channeled their care and compassion into various public welfare initiatives. During the pandemic, they made multiple donations of medical gloves, surgical masks, and other anti-epidemic supplies, contributing their modest efforts to the fight against the virus.
